Soakin' Up Some Vitamin D!

The weather has been beautiful the past two days!  No rain, no chilly wind--just good old sunshine!  We haven't seen too many nice days yet here in Kyiv.  Yesterday, we decided to take advantage of the nice weather and spent the afternoon outside.  Fridays are our day off from language school, so we also didn't include homework on our agenda for the day!  :)  Today, we spent some time at the outdoor street market sporting shorts, flip-flops, and t-shirts...and now we are sporting slight sunburns!  It reached 82 degrees!  We didn't take our camera with us today, so we just have pictures from yesterday's adventure.

At a park in downtown Kyiv--one of our favorite places to go!
Picnic Lunch at the Park!!!
A great lunch--PB&Js and chips!  The pigeons wanted to join us...
This older gentleman sauntered through the park, found just the right spot in the shade, and put down a small plastic tarp.  He proceeded to eat an orange that he had packed, then rolled over and commenced his afternoon nap.  Priceless!  :)
Tulips in the park
The Ukrainian way of "mowing" the grass--use a weed eater!  (They don't always choose this method, but it's been more common than a lawnmower from what we've seen so far).
We didn't even have to go all the way to the park to find flowers!  These tulips are planted in front of the government administration building that is right behind our apartment building.
We created the shade for this picture with our shadows...it looks pretty cool!
Andy likes the orange and yellow ones, and Cassie likes the pink ones!
In front of the administration building--really close to our apartment and across the street from the bus stop.
Fun black and white shot!
Another photo opportunity!  After a long, cold winter, we were wondering if we would ever see green grass in Kyiv!  We are so thankful for the sunshine and how God renews all things.  Spring is such a beautiful time!
Pretty blossoms in front of our apartment building
Here's our apartment building!  If you look really close, you can see Cassie standing in the window.  Start at the top right and count down 7 stories.  There are three windows open and Cassie is standing in the middle one.  We made this picture bigger so you could see it better.  It's like our own "Where's Waldo!"
Cassie is waving from our living room balcony.  Thus ends our outdoor adventure!
